5-Day North & South Goa Itinerary - Option 1

Day 1: Arrival & North Goa Beaches

Arrive in Goa and check into a beachside hotel in Calangute, Candolim, or Baga. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the sand, trying local shacks, and enjoying water sports if time allows. In the evening, explore Baga's nightlife or a quieter sunset at Candolim.

  • mid-range – Resort Terra Paraiso (Calangute), Country Inn & Suites by Radisson (Candolim); 
  • premium – Taj Holiday Village Resort & Spa (Candolim).

Day 2: Forts, Markets & Nightlife

Start with a visit to Aguada Fort and its lighthouse for panoramic sea views, then head to Chapora Fort for a scenic hike and photo stops. After lunch, browse Anjuna or Arpora markets for souvenirs and handicrafts. Evening options include a beach club in Baga, a sunset cruise from Panjim, or a relaxed dinner in Candolim. Suggested hotels remain in North Goa to avoid frequent packing and unpacking.

Day 3: Old Goa & Transfer to South Goa

Check out from your North Goa hotel and drive towards Old Goa. Visit Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral, and the Latin Quarter of Fontainhas in Panjim for heritage walks and colorful streets. Enjoy a Goan thali for lunch, then continue to South Goa. Check into a quieter resort in Colva, Benaulim, or Palolem.

Day 4: South Goa Beaches & Relaxation

Dedicate this day to South Goa's calmer side. Spend the morning at Colva or Benaulim beach, or head further south to Palolem or Agonda for a more laid-back vibe. Try kayaking, dolphin-spotting trips, or simply relax in a beach shack with fresh seafood. In the evening, enjoy a peaceful sunset walk and a candlelit dinner by the sea. Stay overnight at your South Goa hotel for a restful end to the day.

Day 5: Spice Plantation & Departure

On your final day, check out and visit a nearby spice plantation for a guided tour, traditional Goan lunch, and optional elephant interactions if available. Alternatively, spend a few last hours at the beach or shopping for cashews, feni, and local crafts. Plan your transfer to the airport or railway station with enough buffer time for traffic. If you have a late flight, consider a day-use room or luggage storage at your South Goa hotel.

Day 1: Goa: 

  • Arrive Goa. Private transfer by car to Heritage Village Resort & Spa located on Arossim Beach or similar in South Goa. Afternoon visit an exotic beach. Overnight at hotel

Day 2: Goa: 

  • Breakfast. Depart at 10.00 a.m on a Heritage guided tour visiting Figueiredo House 425-year-old mansion in the village of Loutolim, South Goa. Later visit the Museum of Ethnography – Goa Chitra Museum. The Goa Chitra is an ethnographic museum based in the former Portuguese colony of Goa. It has a large collection—over 4000 artefacts —focusing on Goa's traditional agrarian technology and lifestyle. Goa Chitra is based in the coastal Goan village of Benaulim. Return back to hotel at 4.00 p.m. Overnight at hotel

Day 3: Goa: 

  • Day tour of Old Goa with lunch at a local restaurant in Panjim. Old Goa, also called Velha Goa, is beside the Mandovi River in the western Indian state of Goa. The former capital of Portuguese India, it's known for colonial-era monuments like the Basilica of Bom Jesus, with the remains of St. Francis Xavier, and the domed Church of St. Cajetan, inspired by St. Peter's in Rome. Nearby, the vast Se Cathedral, built in the 16th–17th centuries, has ornate chapels and a bell tower. Return back to hotel late afternoon, enjoy a beach sunset. Overnight at hotel. 

Day 4: Goa: 

  • Day free to laze or take a walk on the beach. Alternatively use the day for an Ayurvedic Body Massage & Therapy. Overnight at hotel

Day 5 : Departure: 

  • Breakfast, followed by check-out and departure to airport to board flight to onward destination
