Algonquin Park & Carrying Capacity
Algonquin Park, Canada leads the way with strict rules on park entry, restrictions on number of persons, type of wood used for cooking & not attracting wildlife or feeding. I was fortunate to stay at this park in 2003. Some rules they follow are mentioned below.
Can & Bottle Ban : In the park interior (backcountry), metal cans and glass bottles are strictly prohibited. Only burnable, disposable food and drink containers are allowed.
Prohibited Areas: Pets are strictly forbidden on designated beaches and posted swimming areas.
Quiet Time: Excessive noise and rowdy behavior are not tolerated. Mandatory quiet time applies across the park.
Some practices should also be followed in local parks, buffer zones, eco fragile regions
