5-Day Kashmir Itinerary: Srinagar, Gulmarg & Pahalgam - Option 1

Day 1 – Arrive in Srinagar & Dal Lake
Arrive in Srinagar and check into your houseboat or hotel. Spend the afternoon on a relaxing shikara ride on Dal Lake, gliding past floating gardens and traditional wooden houses. In the evening, stroll through the Boulevard Road, enjoy local kahwa tea, and sample Kashmiri cuisine for dinner. Overnight stay in Srinagar.

Day 2 – Srinagar Sightseeing
After breakfast, explore Srinagar’s famous Mughal gardens: Shalimar Bagh, Nishat Bagh, and Chashme Shahi, all offering beautiful views of the lake and surrounding mountains. Visit the historic Shankaracharya Temple or Hazratbal Shrine, depending on your interests. Spend the evening shopping for pashmina, saffron, and handicrafts in the local markets. Day 3 – Srinagar to Gulmarg
Drive to Gulmarg (around 2 hours), a scenic journey through charming villages and pine forests. Check into your hotel and then head out to explore the meadows. Take the Gulmarg Gondola (weather permitting) to enjoy panoramic views and optional activities like light trekking or snow fun in season. Return to your hotel for a cozy evening. Overnight stay in Gulmarg.

Day 4 – Gulmarg to Pahalgam
After breakfast, drive to Pahalgam (around 4–5 hours), following the Lidder River and passing saffron fields and apple orchards. Check into your hotel and relax. Later, take a gentle walk along the river or explore the local market. If time allows, visit nearby spots like Aru Valley or Betaab Valley by local transport. Overnight stay in Pahalgam.

Day 5 – Pahalgam & Departure
Spend a relaxed morning in Pahalgam, enjoying the mountain air and scenic views. Depending on your departure schedule, you can opt for a short pony ride or riverside walk. After checkout, drive back to Srinagar for your onward journey, carrying memories of lakes, meadows, and valleys from your 5-day Kashmir escape.
