Peak, Shoulder, Off Season Travel - Which is best?
Which is best? Generally the last week of December sees' the highest amount of travel worldwide! Naturally travel is expensive. Peak season months are months when weather at a destination is moderately high & low. Shoulder season, are generally the months leading to peak season - maybe a month or two, before. Off season is when no one generally wants to travel because of extreme temperatures, like Ladakh in winter, or Perth in summer, or Kerala during the monsoons. For the budget conscious off season is a good time, while family travelers will choose peak season due to school holidays. Shoulder season is also a good time as it `offers' the best of both - not too high prices for services as well as reasonably good time for favorable climate & lesser crowds.
