Eating out?

Is it the feel of the place or good food that makes us dine out? In these days when food, drinks, snacks and almost every other edible item can be delivered at one's residence in say an hour or so, the need for dining in fine surroundings is all the more important. Besides, each venue has the opportunity to express itself, on an aesthetic level by creating a distinct atmosphere. Having good food is a given, the atmosphere adds to it. Places that readily come to mind are fine dining restaurants at Fairmont, Mumbai; Gallops, Racecourse, Le Pondy Poolside, Pondicherry; Jagat Niwas Terrace, Udaipur; to name a few.
